Brow Lift

A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift or browplasty, is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to raise the eyebrows, smooth forehead wrinkles, and enhance the overall appearance of the brow and forehead area. It aims to correct sagging brows, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and frown lines, and create a more youthful and refreshed look.

Symptoms/Indications

  • Sagging or low-positioned eyebrows that create a tired, sad, or angry appearance
  • Deep horizontal forehead wrinkles
  • Frown lines or vertical creases between the eyebrows (glabellar lines)
  • Excess skin hanging over the eyes
  • Asymmetrical brows
  • Desire for a more youthful and alert appearance

Treatments

    Endoscopic Brow Lift:
  • Minimally invasive technique using an endoscope (a small camera) and tiny incisions.
  • Small incisions are made behind the hairline.
  • The endoscope allows the surgeon to see and adjust the underlying tissues.
  • Excess tissue is removed or repositioned, and the brow is lifted.
    Coronal Brow Lift:
  • Involves a longer incision made behind the hairline, from ear to ear across the top of the head.
  • The forehead skin is lifted, and excess skin is removed.
  • Provides a significant lift but is less commonly used due to the longer incision.
    Temporal (Limited) Brow Lift:
  • Focuses on lifting the outer parts of the eyebrows.
  • Shorter incisions are made within the hairline at the temples.
  • Suitable for patients needing mild to moderate elevation.
    Direct Brow Lift:
  • Incisions are made directly above the eyebrows.
  • Excess skin is removed, and the brows are lifted.
  • Often used in patients with significant brow drooping and when scarring can be well-concealed.

Procedure

    Consultation:
  • Comprehensive evaluation by a plastic surgeon to discuss goals, expectations, and medical history.
  • Determining the most appropriate technique based on individual needs and desired outcomes.

A brow lift can significantly rejuvenate the upper face, creating a more youthful and refreshed look. It is essential to have realistic expectations and follow the surgeon’s advice for optimal outcomes. Regular follow-ups and adherence to post-operative care ensure the best possible results and longevity of the surgery's effects.
